A HISTORY OF SPECIALIZATION
Writing, tools, desks, throwing, and kicking establish repeated lead-and-support roles. For generations, some left-handed children were even pressured to switch writing hands—an extreme example of culture shaping motor behavior.
Standardized machines, assembly work, furniture, and production rewarded consistent one-directional action. Neuromotion treats this as a historical hypothesis about how efficiency amplified asymmetry—not as a conspiracy or a single-cause explanation.
Typing, driving, sitting, scrolling, and device use narrow the range of daily movement while repeating the same side preferences thousands of times.
One shoulder rises, one hip organizes load, one direction feels natural, and the other feels foreign. The body gets exceptionally efficient at the pattern it knows.
